Unconfirmed Entries

Walker Racing – Reported to have closed but are still looking for investment to run one of the Mansell’s, own two chassis and may appear at the Indy 500

PCM – Working on a non oval programme for Alex Figge

Rocketsports – Took delivery of a Dallara last week and looking at options
EDIT: Chassis has now been collected from their shop and sent to a new team, Rocketsport will confirm soon that they will not be joining Indycar

SAMAX Motorsports – Appear to be commited to ALMS but own 2 chassis and might enter Indy with Mario Dominguez

Rahal Letterman Racing – Will probably only run one car full time (as above) but own plenty of equipment so expect to see at least one more at Indy

Jon Herb/Racing Professionals – Has a super-speedway programme apparently, expect to see him at least Indy and possibly Texas

Tom Chastain – Said at Indy last season he’d be back for Indy this year but with an old Panoz and the difficulty at getting into the race this season he may run a partnership with Sam Schmidt

Playa Del Racing – Have a stable IPS programme and look good for Indy again this season possibly with Al Unser Jr and Al Unser III

Have to say that I'm lookiing forward to this (although it's still too many ovals).

I'd say Ganassi & Penske are the teams to beat since AGR lost its top drivers - Tony's good but not sure he can carry the team.

But that said - GO SARAH!!!!

there is still confusion over where Paul Tracy will or won't race this season

at the moment, the four possible options are Ganassi Racing, Conquest Racing, Rahal Letterman Racing and Vision Racing

Tracy has stated he would be interested in racing for Chip but Chip isn't keen, Conquest have a technical partnership with Forsythe who own Tracy's contract but he isn't big on racing at Conquest

Vision are the only team to have expressed proper interest but Tracy has stated he wants to be paid to race and race for a front running team, he doesn't see Vision as an option

RLR have settled their case with Scott Sharp and Patron and they may now run a 2nd car, RLR haven't said anything about PT but rumours are beginging to circulate

only 2 weeks to go though and it looks bleak

ppparkinson9 - March 16, 2008 08:11 PM (GMT)
I think he has to be realistic. It's too late for him to slot into a top team.

Perhaps Tony George should pay for him to race at RLR, I imagine the Edmonton round needs Tracy on the grid.

stradlin23 - March 16, 2008 08:21 PM (GMT)
i don't expect a full grid at Homestead anyway, i think maybe 24

i think we will see a full grid from Indy onwards but time is just too short for many teams, perhaps 28 cars after Indy

tracy will race at the Long Beach points race and i'd expect him to be at Indy and like you say, Edmunton

Vision Racing have tested very well and will have the edge on the incoming champ car teams early on so i don't see that as a bad option

Bobby Rahal has been quiet on his 2nd car but if Monster and George were prepared to part fund that effort then it might happen

stradlin23 - March 19, 2008 06:08 PM (GMT)
Dale Coyne Racing have now been added to the confirmed full time entry list

stradlin23 - March 20, 2008 10:51 PM (GMT)
HVM Racing have confirmed Ernesto Viso for Homestead and the entry list has been published with the 26 drivers above all in

the list is subject to change but i don't expect it too

stradlin23 - March 21, 2008 09:49 PM (GMT)
Paul Tracy is still searching for a drive...
