Hey folks, i've bought a ZOOM router and followed the instructions to the letter, my daughters laptop can't access it and my PC loses ANY internet connection.............

are you using xp service pack 2 > ?
try unplugging the router for 20 -30 secs. als, there should be a router rest button that you hold down for 5 secs to reset to the router to factory default.
could be the lan cable. try using short cables
go into the router web configurtion page - something like 192.168.0.1 when connected by a LAN cable and change access to Open - no key. see if your daughters connects then.
also, check the available wireless connections Start menu/"Connect to" . could be that there are lots of nearby connections interferring with yours.
also, double check that you select your connection in the available wireless network on her laptop. sometimes XP auto selects different connections, says you are connected - maybe to a neighbour - but the signal is too weak to do anything.
Changed Encryption type and hey presto!!!!!
