LinkNot bad for a rookie. Andy Meklau is a name I remember from WSB way back.

| QUOTE | Schumacher, apparently competing just for fun... He then completed only a handful of laps, but went on to claim pole position for the race on Thursday,
although it has to be noted the professional IDM riders' bikes didn't have timing transponders and were relegated to the back of the grid.
Instead of starting from pole, Schumacher... decided to join them on the last row, but then made his way up the field to finish third behind fellow Honda racer Bauer and Meklau,

He really is on another level. Nobody gives that sense of the race is in the bag like he did in his hey days in F1.
No matter who's got the fastest car these days i never feel like the race is won like he would make you feel just watching him in the practice sessions.
Even if he qualified 5th, the pole sitter was still worried MS would beat them and how many times did he win a race when not on pole.
Boring to some it might have been, but it will be a long time before someone can match that sense of confidence for fans, and dread for fans of the other drivers. Yes you need a good car, but in his hey day a good car in his hands was virtually unbeatable, even in the F1 twilight years he was fearsome.
Blimey i sound like ITV, but at least this guy already has the trophy's and world records to back up the praise.
