Title: Coca-Cola 600
stradlin23 - May 24, 2008 01:24 PM (GMT)
On the same day as the Indy 500 see's NASCAR's longest race, the Coca-Cola 600
Both races are live on Sky making 1100 oval miles in one night, fantastic
Kasey Kahne won the All-Star race last weekend and he qualified 2nd for the big one but the in form Kyle Busch took the pole
AJ Allmendinger, who won the qualifying race prior to the All Star race managed to qualify his car on speed again, perhaps he's turned the corner
Tony Stewart, Ryan Newman, JPM, Clint Bowyer and the in form Travis Kvapil all qualified outsdie the top 30, expect all those to move up during the race
Johnny Sauter JUST made the race but Jon Wood, Jeff Green, Joe Nemechek, Stanton Barrett and Tony Raines are all going home
After all the drama of the Indy 500 you can enjoy 4 hours of more quality oval racing
It doesn't get much better then this

The joy of the 600 is that it really doesn't matter where you qualify. Guys have run from the back to the front with little problems over 4 hours of racing.
After all its posing and whinning, the IRL is now quietly looking at having the broadcasters move the start back to Noon to give drivers a shot at doing the double. That would be a good move for many - since a fair number of the Nascar drivers would love to try out the 500 and some of the IRL drivers would like to give the 600 a shot.
Good to see AJ doing well again - glad it was the car and not him ;)

People accused Hendrick Motorsports of cheating last season with their COT, i think it's a load of crap to be honest but one of their partner teams could be in serious trouble today
Haas CNC Racing who are supplied equipment by HMS have had both their cars confiscated and will have to race their back up's
It's been a pretty terrible season for Haas who should have some of the best cars on the grid but after Jeremy Mayfield was sacked they haven't been able to find a permanent replacement in the #70 car
Scott Riggs has been fast but incosistent in the #66 car and with this latest blow it probably means the team will be docked owners points which could see both cars outside the top 35

Hendrick cheating? That's as likely as Tony Stewart not shaving on race day.....
<roflmao>

Sky Sports coverage just started
i've had my 3 year old running me around the park today and i've watched the pain of Leeds United losing
i'm pretty knackered, hope I can make it through 600 miles

Lousy ending for Tony. I watched the race in replay and didn't think much of it - too many tires blowouts for the leaders. It's either the tires or they setup (my guess is the camber setup)
