Who's hot
Scott Dixon
I had a good feeling about Dixon this season and he proved me right, of course I would rather see an English driver win but I knew this race was only going to be one winner. He was pretty much faultless all day, he didn't race people when he didn't need too and his pit crew were just as slick, a top performance all round from the #9 team
Vitor Meira
If any of the 33 drivers needed a big performance it was Meira. Rumours were rife at the start of May that Brent Sherman was going to replace him but Meira got on with the job and does what he does best, finshing 2nd of course! But beyond that, it was a position he deserved, he made some great moves and although he couldn't quite take the win, Panther are back to being the best of the rest
Ed Carpenter
Another driver I predicted would do well, his improvement over the last few years is amazing and he drove a great race that will largely go without credit, it's also worth nothing that in 5 races he has 4 top tens including 2 top 5's and a 6th. The pit problems continue though but if Vision can get them sorted then I think he has the pace to crack the top 3, he is also sitting 7th in the championship
Enrique Bernoldi
What?! i hear you say! Well, look at the facts. It's his 3rd ever oval race, his first visit to Indy. He finished in 15th and on the lead lap in a low budget team and whilst so many other rookies (and veterans) hit the wall he kept it clean all day and brought back his car in one piece, which is more then what his teammate did
Deserve a mention
Buddy Rice, Darren Manning and Townsend Bell
Finished 8th, 9th and 10th. Good result for them all, Rice is always decent at Indy and Manning showed he can drive, best brit on the day and Bell scored his 2nd top 10 of the season in only his 3rd start.
Who's not hot
Danica Patrick
She drove well don't get me wrong but this spoilt brat attitude is really starting to grate on me. Does she not remember 2005?? People make mistakes, and she made alot of them, perhaps before having a crack at Viso and Briscoe she might want to send a sorry letter to Tomas Enge and Tomas Scheckter for ruining their Indy in 2005? Danica needs to cut out the shit and start growing up. i have never ever seen her take responsibility for things she has done but she can't wait to have a go at people when it's the other way round, and in time, the media will turn on her, believe me
Ryan Briscoe
Why did Penske sign him? I've never liked him, cocky aussie who really does not have the results to back up his arrogance. Can't be bothered to waste my time talking about him
AJ Foyt IV
What could go wrong, did go wrong. Mostly not AJ's fault, he had a nightmare month. Got burnt and hit the wall, then got burnt again in the pits, what else could have happened to him this month. Certainly a month to forget, move on to Milwaukee
Jaime Camara
There was a few people i could have picked to go here, Graham Rahal or Marty Roth to name two but Camara has kept Dallara nicely in business this month and he tries to wreck as many cars as he can. Not content with wrecking his main car he then destroyed the T car in the race and was never really a factor for a decent finish
Fabulous race for Vitor. I was so hoping he'd find a way to pull off a win. He was having a great run but there was no way of beating the Target cars without them wrecking. He was definately the driver of the day for me.
Ed was another one with a nice run, but I'd have added Hunter-Reay to the list of great drives. Never really expected that much from his and a 6th place finish was nice.
Mika deserves a call out too - she stayed fast(ish) and on the lead lap until Buddy decided to go below the white line to pass her, causing the spin. She made a rookie mistake staying on the brakes too long - it's what you do on the road courses but it's not needed on a slightly banked oval, but she had a much better than expected run going and deserved a better finish.
As for Danica, lousy day with a worse ending. Yeah, the temper is getting a bit much but I'd also have expected many/most of the guys to do the same after Ryan's stupid move. She just does it too often. Of course, I loved it when the broadcasters were cheering her on going after Ryan.
As for Briscoe... he actually feels it's Danica's fault ROTFL Of course, he's it - even his boss felt he moved too far, leaving her no room. Of course, for an idiot like him, he feels he can do less wrong than Danica feels she can do ;)
Lastly - gotta mention and feel terrible for Sarah. <cry> got caught up in the after effect of Marco's poor judgement and ruined her season - this was also the Kentucky car. I think everyone should boycott her 'supposed' sponsor who stood her up. Kanaan was great talking about his advice to her in the safety car. He's a classy guy who deserves better.
Good spot on Bernoldi, Stradders. I knew he didn't have much oval experience, but didn't realise it was that little! Did very well to finish on the lead lap.
When i first read the topic title, i thought it was a review of Indiana Jones IV <roflmao> <doh>
