Italian single seat racer Francesco Castellacci will compete for former British Formula 3 champions Alan Docking Racing (ADR) in the 2007 Lloyds TSB Insurance British F3 International Series.

Castellacci, who lives in Milan but is originally from Rome, will drive one of the Silverstone based team’s Mugen Honda powered Dallaras in the Championship Class alongside Australian Formula Ford Champion John Martin, who signed for ADR last week.

“I’m very happy to have joined the Alan Docking Team for the Formula 3 British Championship class this year,” said Francesco Castellacci. “This for me is really a great adventure and opportunity and I have chosen to continue my motorsport carrer in England because it simply always been my dream since I started racing in Karting.  I think also that the British F3 is the racing category where drivers who aim to a professional carrier in motorsport can learn the most.”

19-year-old Castellacci raced in the Italian Formula Azzurra Championship in his first season in a single seat formula after karting for many years at International level.  He will take part in the first official British F3 test of the 2007 season at Pembrey on February 20/21 in preparation for the start of the 22 race season at Oulton Park in Cheshire on Easter Monday (April 9th).

ooo, didn't know the F3 boys were testing at Pembrey then.

That said, they do test at Pembrey a lot. and occasionally leave their cars all over the place.

The F3 boys seem to like Wales generally.
They have tested for a good few years at Anglesey. Not sure whther these were official series tests or private.

Lots of series like Pembrey to test...

It's in the middle of nowhere and is great for the handling.

It's the middle of nowhere...I think that's the main point for it. There are official tests at Pembrey, but often they run private tests there and change different bits and pieces or even put different drivers in there which the general public never knows what or who.
