More info??
Well the trucks themselves are limited to a minimum weight of 6 tons, and a maximum top speed of 100mph. Sounds not much compared to car racing, but any faster and they simply won't be stopped by anything.
Oh yeah, and they'll get to 100mph faster than a Porsche.
Truck racing is non contact, but seeing as the track is normally only wide enough for 2 trucks some argy bargy is inevitable.
The Drivers... who to watch out for...
“Rocket” Ross Garrett
The Raining Champion. Do not ever discount this driver, put him at the back and he'll still win.
Chris Levett
A rookie with amazing talent. European spec truck helps.
Dave Jenkins
Madman. Drives a monsterous Sisu. Can and will attempt to drift and doughnut the truck on the cooling down lap. Also tries to snatch the chequred flag as he passes... at close to 100mph(!) usually disqualified at least once during a meeting...
Tips for watching...
Go to a circuit where you can watch from your car, and stay in it – unless you like breathing Diesel smoke. The crossing at Pembrey is excellent. But get there early.
