Title: The King Of Controversy

stradlin22 - March 14, 2007 11:03 AM (GMT)
who is it??

either past or present?

these are my suggestions of drivers that are usually in trouble, or causing trouble

Paul Tracy

Champ Car would be dull without him. Always seems to be involved in trouble with someone or other, even his own teammate

Dale Earnhardt

Obviously, he didn't get his famous nickname from nothing did he

Eddie Cheever

People actually claim that the only reason Eddie Cheever competed in the last seasons Indycar championship was so he could take off Marco Andretti.
Having done a good job on Mario and upsetting Michael many times, he felt it only right to give Marco the same treatment (TWICE!)

any more??

How about Robby Gordon and Tony Stewart? Both had their moments from time to time.

i've never been a Robby Gordon fan

Smoke has had his moments

does anyone remember Dave Brodie from the BTCC late 80's (not strictly World motorsport i know)

he was always up to something, made Schumi look sporting!

Bobby unser was a w***er....both as a racer (stole an indy 500 from mario) and a tosspot as a commentator.

Dale Earnhardt was hard as nails and was either loved or loathed...but even those who hated him had to acknowledge how good he was. I guess the spin out of Terry Labonte at bristol was pretty bad....and the "pass in the grass" against bill elliot at the winston as well....

but then on the other side Lake speed nailed him at martinsville, DW nailed him and labonte at richmond I think it was back in 88...so it cuts both ways.

Robby Gordon was a chancer in CART and he's stayed the same in Nascar...those antics in montreal were just another in a long list.

Michael Waltrip has been no saint either, he through his helmet at a car in Dover, he had the mysterious crash (aka drunk driving) earlier this year....

course the biggest of all time in nascar was probably the Cale Yarborough/Donnie Allison scrap on the backstetch of Daytona.....nothing wrong with a good scrap though!

Tim Richmond. He got aids and was banned because they thought he was a drug user. Are you guys old enough to remember him?

I would definitely agree with Paul Tracy. He is a good driver who seems to attract trouble, and it's never a dull moment with him either on or off track.

The TV show Race Car Driver gives a great insight into his life away from the track, and his on-track controversies and moments
