i saw some of the crash when watching last night but we didn't get any replays

it didn't seem that bad from what I could make out

a side impact and then the car caught fire, although it may have been in the drivers side door which is obviously more serious

i wasn't really paying that much attention to the race

I watched the ALMS race live yesterday, and the crash did not seem that bad. Although he had to be wrestled out of the car, the commentator later said he was fine and talking to the medics on the way to hospital.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., March 31, 2007 – Petersen Motorsports/White Lightning Racing driver Tomas Enge (a native of the Czech Republic living in Monaco) is in stable condition at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, Fla. following a serious accident on lap 87 of the Sports Car Challenge at St. Petersburg.

Enge suffered serious trama, the extent of which is not known at this time, but was awake and alert during the rescue process.
