Title: Malaysia: rate the race

1 is lowest, 10 is highest

I'm rating them as the average viewer would. Personally for interest I would have given it 7 or 8 because I was intrigued as ever, but on-track it was fairly tame once again, so a generous 4.

I rate them based on the view of knowledgable fans. I woke up to my alarm at 1:45 AM CDST US and went back to bed at 4:00 AM. No casual viewer would do that.

I gave it a 7. I put Oz at 5 as my baseline. Good opening laps. Good midfield racing. Good drives from the pitlane and the very back. Tense final stint as Kimi chased Ham. I watched the lap times, and it kept me busy.

It was worth getting up in the middle of the night (My wife thinks I'm crazy, and made me sleep in the guest room so as not to disturb her).

lol FLood, I dvr'ed the race and watched it when I got up!

I gave the race an 8, i quite enjoyed it, I enjoyed Massa proving that my jusgement of him is not harsh.

Flood, do you think Peter Widsor was too namby pamby with Hamilton in the pre-race pit walk? I thought he should have walked over and thust a mic into his face.

After all, he did that at every race with Scott Speed in 06!

Saint, they were in the car when I got in front of the tele, so I didn't see the pre-race walk.

(I sent you a PM)

I read it mate,

I think they are being over protective - Peter Windson was like "Oh there is Hamilton there, we must not disturb him, being new to Formula 1, we need to give him this opportunity to gather his thoughts".

Last year Windsor never had his mic out of Speeds face - in his rookie year!

Prima Dona anyone?

Sounds like Peter Windsor is being stage managed by Ron!

Yet Ron always takes time to talk to Windsor, along with Flavio - The Ferrari lot are not so forthcoming!

Apparently Hamilton, or rather Ron Dennis, has asked ITV not to interfere on the grid. So I'd guess it is the same for other TV stations as well.

It wasn't a great race at all. Raikkonen catching Hamilton & Massa messing up his overtaking move possibly saved it from being as boring as Australia

Red Andy - April 9, 2007 01:55 PM (GMT)
I gave it a 7 because it was better than Australia: interesting opening few laps, good racing all through the field and a nice tense finish. Not the best race we'll see this year (we hope) but pretty good nonetheless.

I gave it a 4, it was a terrible race again with poor coverage.
