Ryuichi Kiyonari and Jonathan Rea took a HM Plant one-two in the first race at the Silverstone round of British Superbikes.

Chris Walker took third, claiming his first podium since his return to the national series. Leon Camier took fourth from Gregorio Lavilla, with the injured Leon Haslam finished sixth after leading into the first corner of the race.

Ryuichi Kiyonari took the double win in the second race at Silverstone, leading from the start until the race was red-flagged on lap 14.

Behind Kiyonari the drama unfolded with Lavilla working his way through the field to finished second, and Jonathan Rea finishing third. Shane Byrne crashed out after touching the back wheel of Leon Haslam in an attempt to take second, with Byrne crashing out and Haslam dropping to finish fifth. Leon Camier also crashed out after passing Chris Walker.

The race was red-flagged after Steve Plater suffered an engine blow-out on the fastest part of the track, leading to crashes for Tom Tunstall and Paul Baron.

I'm glad that someone else has won, but I wish Suzuki, Yamaha and Kawasaki would pull their fingers out, it's been Ducati vs Honda for 3 years now.

I agree it is good to see another driver taking a few wins. Hopefully the same will happen as last season, other drivers will come into play as the season progresses.
