Manufacturer representatives from Suzuki will rejoice after Honda won last year and Yamaha the year before. The fans will take home memories of the tremendous charge seen from the #11 Team Kawasaki France entry.
William Costes, rider for the #2 Suzuki, has won Le Mans for the 3rd time, sharing the top step with teammates Guillaume Dietrich and Max Neukirchner. Costes matches the 2007 win with victories from 2000 and 2005.
Out of the 56 teams that lined up for the start one day ago, 34 reached the finish line for an excellent 60% finishing proportion.
In Superstock, the #72 Junior Team Suzuki won their class in dominating fashion, coming home 7 laps ahead of the Yamaha #57. They finished an impressive 6th place overall.
In Superproduction, the Suzuki #18 carrying the courageous firemen won the class, finishing 5 laps ahead of the #15 Kawasaki of Jadoul Motorsport. They slotted in 10th overall in the running order.
16th overall, and top in Open Class is the proud German team BMW Motorrad Motorsport with their BMW. <clap> <clap> <clap>
