Startline Ed - May 21, 2007 03:44 PM (GMT)
So who went and what did you think of it?

The STIG - May 21, 2007 05:36 PM (GMT)
Well I went

I gave it a 6 out of 10 - Good, but could do better.

In short, there was not enough racing, and too much demonstration. Oh yeah, and bad organising meant there were too many occasions where nothing happened!

But we got some good action out of it, and WickedWitch and Whitestar aren't really that bad (!!)

Whaddya mean too many occasions where nothing happened? If I recall correctly, you moaned about the fires we gave you to play with, you complained about the startline shunt AND I remember you running yourself ragged dressing oil spills for all three days! <clap>

*The STIG must work on his sarcasm skills.

I did mean apart from the 2 1/2 fires, and finding lots of oil to dress, of course...

The startline incident was interesting too!

I have left my opinions in the thread on the Formula 1 board. Must reduce the ticket price! The Masters Festival 2 weeks earlier was a greatly superior event and only cost £15. Aaron Hsu's laps in the FW16 were great though and seeing Scheckter's 312 T4 made my day!

The STIG - May 23, 2007 09:30 AM (GMT)
I saw Scheckter's 312 at GP Live you know... After the A1GP team had taken down the partition between their garrage and the one adjoining it. That garrage hadn't been opened for the event, and the car had not even been moved. Waste!

wickedwitch - May 23, 2007 08:28 PM (GMT)
Well, you didn't think to come and tell me about it did you? <grrr>

Bah!

Yeah I noticed it in the crack between the garages and the A1 GP Ireland guys saw me contorting myself to try and get a look and invited me into the garage. Total waste though, that should've been a major star of the event. I was lucky enough to see Scheckter driving that same car at Goodwood a few years ago but I'd love to have seen it tackling the Craners!
