Title: Ferrari racing days - Silverstone

Did anyone else go down to this? Was a great day out. Very impressed by the organisation of this. The best bit was Irvine Laidlaw's stunning 312P, I've been waiting months to see that out on track. Amazing!

I do belive that Startline Ed, our gallant host, was there.

Yep, I was there on the grid. Great weekend. lots of great looking and sounding cars. 42 F40s in one parade was a sight to see.

That's nearly 3 1/4% of the entire population! Give or take those that have been smashed to bits by over-rich, under-talented owners.....

Yeah it was a great day out. My girlfriend has a video of the F40s she's going to put on youtube so I'll post the link when I get it. There was some mouth-watering machinery on display. Saw a Veyron, 722 Edition McMerc SLR and a Ford GT knocking around and met Chris Rea. What could be better?! Saw the FXX at Goodwood last year but was mint to see them able to stretch their legs! We also got interviewed for the Ferrari Owners' Club - they were making a video for the event. I think it was the Marenello-sourced Gilles tshirt which did it!
I had to choose between DTM, VSCC at Oulton Park or Ferraris on Sunday and I was delighted with the choice. Gutted to miss DTM again though...haven't seen the series since its last foray to Donington. I was very impressed by how smoothly the meeting ran though, well done guys!
Now I face a lonely weekend without any cars before the Festival of Speed in a fortnight. Even more excitement!

I was there Marshalling on the Saturday (Flagging/Observing at Vale)
Managed to get one stuffed into the wall after a dangerous rejoin from an "Off" at Stow.
Also got the No27 F1 twice. First time with a blown engine....lots of oil and a nice little fire to contend with. Second time it just broke down on our post.
Cracking weather.......bit boring IMHO and wouldn't do it again, but glad I went!

Bob showed us the result of that blowup the next day, one rather broken piece of Ferrari engine. Fortunately by that time it had stopped smoking.
