Autosport.com - Carroll Replaces Pizzonia at FMS

Adam Carroll will replace Antonio Pizzonia at FMS for the GP2 races at Magny-Cours this weekend.

Pizzonia has only scored one point in the first five races of the season, while Carroll has been racing in the DTM this year after spending two years in GP2.

Carroll won three races during 2005 with Super Nova, but he struggled last year with Racing Engineering.

The Ulsterman opted against competing in the series for a third season when he could not secure a drive with a top team, but FMS have won races in the past.

Carroll has endured a difficult first half of the season in the DTM with Audi, where he is racing for the Futurecom TME outfit run by Spyker F1 team boss Colin Kolles.

Adam has struggled for a long time with a lack of sponsorship, but his performances with Super Nova in 2005 showed that he has the potential to do well in motorsport. I hope he can establish himself well at FMS and possibly use it as a springboard maybe into an F1 test seat.

Its good to see Adam Carroll with another chance and I wish him luck, he was decent last time when he was in GP2.

Why was Pizzonia in GP2 again? He's had two bites at F1 and messed up both times, is he seriously expecting a third?
