Title: Le Mans Series @ Silverstone
Description: 14-16 September 2007
JJB-Ferrari - July 5, 2007 05:59 PM (GMT)
just got an email about this. Anyone going?
The Britcar 24 hours is probably next on my list of Silverstone visits but may try and do this as well if the funds allow.

I'm definitely off to this - we managed to wrangle some free tickets! Missed last year's event but was there in 2005 when McNish and Minassian were both heroic in awful conditions. I got cold and wet haha! The LMS goes from strength to strength, reminds me of the days when the ALMS visited a few years back. Lovely stuff.

We will try and be there. The FIA GT was brilliant and I'm desperate to go again.

So glad you enjoyed FIA GTs! My first international sportcar race was BPR Global GTs at Donington in 1995 and have followed the series ever since, shame about what Ecclestone did to BPR but Stephane Ratel The "R" in BPR) has such a passion for GT racing that I think everything has turned out well. Patrick Peter ("B" in BPR) is now heavily involved in LMS as well so I think it has lead to a healthy European Sportscar scene.
The free tickets came about because of buying tickets for the Silverstone Classic at the Stoneleigh show. We also went to FIA GTs for free for the same reason. The LMS is a long race so if you want to hook up for a chat, get in touch!

Yeah I think I might be marshalling there actually! Stig has sent me all the details so I'm going to try marshalling for the first time at Croft this weekend all things being well!
I'm off to Silverstone Classic, LMS, AMOC at Oulton Park, Gold Cup at Oulton, See Red at Donington, Goodwood Revival and the Race of Champions at Wembley for sure and maybe some other stuff if I can too! Let me know what you're going to be doing!
