Title: *SPOILER* Toronto Race thread
wickedwitch - July 8, 2007 05:10 PM (GMT)
After 1 1/2 laps only 12 cars still running. <yikes>
There were five cars involved in a first lap incident.
wickedwitch - July 8, 2007 05:20 PM (GMT)
Green flag racing again - how long will it last?
wickedwitch - July 8, 2007 05:27 PM (GMT)
Full course caution after 13 laps.
Whatever are they playing at?
wickedwitch - July 8, 2007 05:33 PM (GMT)
Green again - for how long this time?
wickedwitch - July 8, 2007 05:35 PM (GMT)
Bourdais and Wilson have a slight coming together but the yellows don't come out <nono>
Paul_Murtagh - July 8, 2007 05:50 PM (GMT)
Is there anywhere online I can watch the race WW? Unfortunately I'm still stuck in work
Should be a good race. Toronto has always given good entertainment

Unfortunately not.
However, I'll do my best to keep this thread updated in between cooking and eating!
At the moment it looks like rain with 57 minutes remaining.
Edited to say it IS raining and some of them are out on slicks!
wickedwitch - July 8, 2007 05:55 PM (GMT)
full course yellow again
Tagliana slid off and Servia seems to have slid into him.
Paul_Murtagh - July 8, 2007 05:56 PM (GMT)
Cheers WW
Rain for the second week in a row - that should spice up the action. Where is last week's winner Doornbos?
wickedwitch - July 8, 2007 05:56 PM (GMT)
middle of the field at the moment
Paul_Murtagh - July 8, 2007 06:00 PM (GMT)
Hero to zero at the minute then
The fact that Toronto is a street circuit will make it even harder in the wet due to lack of grip. Do they have soft and hard compound wet tyres in ChampCar?
wickedwitch - July 8, 2007 06:04 PM (GMT)
No, they only have wet and dry tyres - no hard or soft compounds.
The track is very iffy at the moment - not too wet and not too dry and very slippery.
wickedwitch - July 8, 2007 06:05 PM (GMT)
Paul_Murtagh - July 8, 2007 06:07 PM (GMT)
There's one Minardi out then.
Do you this think will be a timed race or lap race WW? Is it wet enough to make it a timed race?
wickedwitch - July 8, 2007 06:11 PM (GMT)
It's Champ Car - it's a timed race. 1 hour 45 minutes for this race.
Paul_Murtagh - July 8, 2007 06:13 PM (GMT)
I thought ChampCar races had a race distance <doh>
I wouldn't fancy driving in the wet on a street circuit for 1hr 45mins. It'a a true test of man and machine endurance
What's the order now WW?
wickedwitch - July 8, 2007 06:34 PM (GMT)
Sorry for the delay in replying - was eating!
Under full course yellows again on a very wet track although the rain has stopped falling.
Current positions:
Power
Dalziel
Jani
Bourdais
Wilson
Doornbos
Junqueira
Pagenaud
Tagliani
That's it - everyone else is out
<yikes>
wickedwitch - July 8, 2007 06:35 PM (GMT)
Paul_Murtagh - July 8, 2007 06:41 PM (GMT)
Cheers WW.
9 left and surely more to drop out. Looks like we could end up with 4 or 5 finishers
wickedwitch - July 8, 2007 06:43 PM (GMT)
Bourdais and Doornbos in the wall <yikes>
wickedwitch - July 8, 2007 06:45 PM (GMT)
Current positions with 6 minutes remaining:
Power
Jani
Dalziel
Wilson
Pagenaud
Junqueira
Tagliani (2 laps down)

Team Australia are so close to the victory
Did Bourdais and Doornbos collide or were they seperate incidents?

Not a good thing to do after the bad blood from last week.
Power still leading?
wickedwitch - July 8, 2007 06:52 PM (GMT)
A very exciting last lap with a close battle between Jani and Wilson for second and third.
Well done to Will Power on his win. <thumbsup>
Paul_Murtagh - July 8, 2007 06:55 PM (GMT)
Speedworx - July 9, 2007 12:00 PM (GMT)
Good race.
Nice to see Power win and Robert take the points lead on his own.
