Title: Silverstone Classic
Description: 27th - 29th July

Who's off? While I'm not sure it has the same on-track magic as the old Coys Festival, this has become an essential part of my summer and the entry this year is as superb as ever. Seeing Derek Bell racing a Porsche 956 will be amazing!
Hope to see some of you down, I'll be in attendance Saturday and Sunday.

Yeah, do it! It's such a pleasant meeting. I'm not a huge fan of Silverstone for anything except really quick single seaters but the sight of Group C cars hammering down the Hanger Straight is enough to give you goosebumps. That's before you consider the other 20-odd races as well. Last year there was an awesome GPM battle between Manfredo Rossi's Brabham BT42 (with the much prettier BT44 bodywork) and Peter Weunch's Wolf WR1, absolute magic!

Yeah I've been very impressed thus far. Would be nice to see Supersports Cup and Ferrari/Maserati Challenge guest slots as well, as in the Coys days but the paddocks are great fun and there's always loads of ppl to chat to. Will keep an eye out for you on the grid Ed! Sounds like we might be hooking up over Silverstone 24hrs as well; I'm going to try my hand at marshalling!

Well the weather was indeed kind apart from the last race saturday and sat evening. I had a great time. Lots of great cars. My legs are now rather tired due to the length of the grids what did everyone else think?

Enjoyable 3 days,sun/wind burnt...got a tad wet on Sat evening <grrr>
spoilt a good race I thought
Only negative point was the rather dis-organised track parades, which put us behind time on Sat <unsure>
Enjoyed the Group C <thumbsup>

Had a fantastic couple of days. All the usual suspects were on top form, I particularly enjoyed Justin Law's stirring drives in the Group C race on Sunday, although was upset by the poor reliability. Despite that, it was the best grid of Group C/GTP I've seen since the series started. The rain made me ever so soggy on Saturday evening but it was worth it for Peter Dunn and Anthony Reid's spirited drive in the March 74S.
Can't wait for the Gold Cup next month now!
