Title: Who will be promoted?

With over half of the 2007 GP2 season over, which of the current crop of drivers do you think is most likely to gain an F1 seat next season?
Personally I can't see anyone apart from possibly Timo Glock getting a chance. He has been the most impressive so far out of all the drivers, and with his BMW links he could be placed in a smaller team by BMW, either at Spyker or Toro Rosso

It'd be nice to see Carrol and Conway get testing seats. Conway probably needs to do another full year of GP2 before he gets anywhere near F1 and Carrol needs to develop more consistency. Beyond that, it is the F1 old hands and Glock that have dominated most of the time, though no single driver has outshone everyone else.

None. This season's grid looks very weak. There is no-one with the quality of Kovalainen, Rosberg or Hamilton out there. I was thinking Glock, but he hasn't really shone, he is just the best of a bad bunch really.

conway looks like a talent. But no one has impressed me so far this year.

The fact that the most impressive driver so far this season is an ex-F1 driver who didn't really cut it shows that the field is pretty weak this season. Personally I think Carroll deserves a shot at F1, but that's probably based more on my support of him than any objective assessment of his talent.

It's a bit harsh to say that Glock didn't make it. He scored points on his debut and competed well with Heidfeld, and we know where he is now.

Yes, back where he started <doh> He actually stepped in for the last few races of 2004, but everyone forgets that because he did nothing in those races. And remember, he got points thanks to 4 disqualifications ahead of him. Heidfeld was also in the points, in a higher position, IIRC.
