Title: Who gets Bourdais drive?

The best drive in Champ Cars is up now Bourdais is off to F1. I haven't been keeping fully up to date with Champ Cars, but surely Justin Wilson has to be high on the list?

this opens up a very interesting situation now between the IRL and Champ Car
It now seems certain that Sam Hornish Jr will leave the IRL at the end of this season to race full time in NASCAR
It is widely reported and believed that his replacement will be Ryan Briscoe who already has links to Penske
But Briscoe has always stated his desire to race for a top team in Champ Car because he is more at home on the road courses and Newman/Haas has also enquired about Briscoe in the past
Now, that Champ Car opportunity is open and he might take it

It would be odd for someone to turn down the Penske drive if they could get it.
Are there any American drivers that don't want to go to NASCAR?

apart from Hornish
Ed Carpenter, Scott Sharp and AJ Foyt IV are other americans in the series
Sharp is looking to own an IRL team when he packs in so no chance of him gioing to NASCAR in any capacity
Foyt IV has tried NASCAR but didn't get along with it and i've heard nothing of Carpenter being interested in it
although NASCAR could suit his style because he came from the spint series like Tony Stewart and Kenny Irwin

I always thought Nelson Philippe was deserving of a top-line drive, and only for a lack or finance he wasn't able to secure a drive for this season. But whether he would be a contender to replace Bourdais I'm not sure.
I think it would be Ryan Briscoe who would get the nod
