Title: Scandals, Spies and Spats
Description: Is it good for F1?

Do you think that any publicity is good publicity, and the media coverage of the spy scandal, and McLaren's internal strife, is good for getting people talking about the sport, or is it damaging F1's reputation and credibility in the sporting world, and losing fans interest?

It's now starting to overshadow the actual racing, so I'd say No to your question.

Initially they were interesting, but when it is dragged on and on like the spy case has this summer, it gets boring.

Funnily enough these farces actually get more people watching for some strange reason, they get intrigued and then want to watch.
Its just like in Big Brother this year when the whole racist row broke up and then viewing figures hit the roof!!
A bit sad but it happens.

They do grab more people's attention and make them take more notice of the sport, but unfortunately it is now attracting more headlines than the actual racing which is bad for F1. Earlier in the season all the main news programmes, such as ITV and BBC, were focusing on Lewis Hamilton's rise to the top, whereas now they are reporting on the spy scandal and the only racing report we get is on race day with a report on the race
If they could find a balance then it could be good for F1, but unfortunately the press, especially in Britain, like to focus more on scandal than on the sport itself
