So after 358 days of waiting, Lord March's triumph of historic motor sport theatre is almost upon us! I'm unbelievably excited about it, as always! I'll be driving down on Thursday night and will be in my period clobber and trackside by early on Friday morning. Hope to see some of you chaps there!

My folks are there today. I'm at work. :(

I would go, being half an hour from where I live, but £43... come on, that's a bit bloody rich for 'admission only'!!
<yikes>

it is expensive, but compare it with Silverstone for the Grand Prix...
Goodwood Sunday general admission : £47
Silverstone Sunday General Admission : £99!
Makes it look like a positive bargain!

That Silverstone price does allow 3 day access <think>
Goodwood is £90 btw

Having attended every kind of motor racing event from hillclimbs to rallies, Le Mans to Grand Prix, Champ Cars to DTM, I can confirm that Goodwood is by far and away the greatest spectacle on earth. If you think £43 is too much, then I seriously suggest you deepen your pockets, old chap.

Let's think... do I go to Goodwood for a day or pay my council tax for nearly the whole month.....
<think>
£25 and I'd have been there with no questions asked. Still, if I get my pay rise I've been promised I'll be doing the Festival and Revival next year....
<thumbsup>

Seriously dude, you can't rationalise this stuff by comparing it to council tax! It's the most vital event on earth!

Just back after working the Assembly area for the 3 days of the event. All I can say is that for the 10th running of the event, Lord March and his staff pulled out all the stops and really made this such a memorable event.
3 days of constant surprises and entertainment, for almost 12 hours every day, gems of rare racing cars and historic air displays, and heroes showing they haven't forgotten what racing is all about.
And the crowd supports the event by their continued participation, adding to the glamour of the event itself. If we could extend the courtesy and manners shown all weekend to the world outside of the circuit boundary fence, I'm sure the world as a whole would be a better place!!!!!!
Will I be back there next year? You betcha!!!!!!!!!!
