a bold move IMO but at least hes on a proven winner in arguably the best team in WSS.the contract to go up to WSB in 2009 is also a good deal unless the honda is no good by then....(not likely, its a honda ffs...)
http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/sport/sp...orTenKateHonda/p.s. sorry about the long URL, i know i can shorten it but just cant be a&*ed.. <whistle>
ok, so its not that long after all.... <blush>
Interesting move, but he's being beaten by his teammate at the moment. He's still not the finished article, but then, I read on that page that he won't be in the actual WSB team until 2009 (is that right?).
yup!
he will be riding in the WSS team(600's) in 08..
basically, they are the team that has dominated WSS for a number of years now.
the list of recent world champs who were on Ten Kate honda 600s
Sebastien Charpentier, Karl Muggeridge, Kenan Sofuoglu<sp?> and Chris Vermeulen to name a few.. <yikes>
so its a good team but hes only going to get his hands on the superbike in 2009.
lots of time for stuff to happen/go wrong but at least he will be proving himself on the world stage(not knocking BSB at all BTW)..
I was sort of hoping Craig Jones would get the Ten Kate Supersport ride. Anyway it will be intresting to see who Rea's team mate will be. Either Sofoglu or Charpentier would be very tough.
His team mate will almost certainly be on the Ten Kate Superbike unless Honda can come up with something for him in MotoGP..
