Title: GP2 Asia - how does it work?

I'm not sure whether I should have posted this in the World Motorsports section or the sub-forum in F1, but does the new GP2 Asia series contain the current GP2 field of teams or is there a new batch of teams from Asia taking part?

I think it's supposed to be a separate series from GP2, with different teams, drivers and so on, but probably the same spec cars. There was a little bit of talk in the past about A1GP essentially developing into the GP2 Asia series, seeing as it has several rounds of its series in Asia, but Bernie rejected that possibility.

Actually, I was only half right. Here you go, Paul:

Apparently most of the teams competing in the two series will be the same. No mention is made of drivers, but seeing as this series will run before the start of the European GP2 series, some of them could well be the same.
