I'm not sure. Sounds similar to the US GP in 2005 over the tyre situation but this time it sounds more like it could be a case of Audi throwing their toys out of the pram over a few incidents, but we can't say until we know all the facts.

Not a good thing when it is only a two-manufacturer series!

This has been brewing for a while though. There's been lots of grumbing over driving standards this year.

It was a bit of a childish decision. Whether or not they are not happy with some driving of the Mercedes drivers, they should keep racing. Haikkinen and La Rosa have been punished now so Audi should focus on racing and not protesting mid-race or taking the hump

Just watching the re-run of this race and the commentators are speaking about the amount of contact going on. One of the comments was "Mercedes have every right to feel hard done by at what's gone on today".

I will post further comments when I've finished watching the re-run and heard a few more statements.

Have seen the end of the programme, have looked at the DTM website and have reviewed the Motors TV Forum. Am confused. <blink>

The only information I could obtain from the DTM website is that they use a very low-quality online translator. They could employ me to do a better job than that!

To be honest, the driving standards in DTM have deteriorated over the years.

I remember years ago when you had loads of different manufacturers, good close racing and now we are down to two manufacturers, driving standards are "iffy" at best, and now one of the two manufacturers decides to chuck the toys out of the pram and, in my opnion, brings the sport into disrepute.

When will these major series ever learn?

The major problem with DTM is, as you say, that there are only two manufacturers. Because of this we get silly results like Oschersleben, where drivers wave each other through to score the best possible result for the manufacturer, and farcical situations like today where half the field disappears because some drivers are having a dispute over the same piece of track. What is needed is at least two more manufacturers to come into the series and bring it into line with other series, such as the WTCC, where although the intra-team politics still plays a part, it doesn't have such a huge impact.

I watched DTM occasionally before this season and Kristensen was one of the ones fighting for victory, but hes down in 14th this year <unsure>
