Title: RoC comfirm another driver

Heikki Kovalainen has confirmed that he will return to the Race of the Champions again this year - as he bids for a repeat of his triumph in the 2004 event.

The Finn famously beat Michael Schumacher at the Paris event three years ago, and he is keen for similar success when he competes at Wembley in December.

"Beating Michael was a very nice thing for me," said Kovalainen. "I remember watching him race against Ayrton Senna when I was still in karts so to beat him on a level playing field was quite unbelievable and the reaction from all the fans in the stadium when I climbed on the roof of the car was incredible.

Does anyone know of any other drivers confirmed for this? I knew Colin McRae was confirmed alongside David Coulthard in the Scotland team but haven't heard whether they have now pulled out or if McRae is being replaced

Go to the website, Old Chap. We've got our tickets booked. Can't wait! Christmas cars!

McRae is being replaced. Probably by his brother.

*The STIG points out that the English team is flawed (Prialux is not English). Why not have an English team of Button and Wilson instead.
Also, please can we have a Welsh Team to go up against England and Scotland? I nominate Hwyel Lloyd (BARC FRenault champion) and Gwyndaf Evans (former British Rally Champion) for the team.
And for whoever's left, a UK team of Hamilton and Prilaux?

*The STIG runs away

I would go to this, but it's a bit far away and a trifle expensive (£44!?)

Nice point there Stig. Especially with the RoC this year being held at Wembley it would have been good to have seperate English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish teams competing for the home crowds. Maybe Priaulx could have taken part in a Islands team alongside maybe a driver/rider from Jersey, Guernsey or the IOM

Wasn't aware that Wembley doesn't allow any type of video/photography in their venue (unless licensed),according to the regulations <blink>

number 18 on the list

Quite an impressive list also :D

Just checked on the Millenium stadium website too and they have similar rules
Is this common practice at venues then ? <unsure>

Yes it is martyn. If you take any photos at any event, they are technically the property of the event organiser... and they can claim copyright infringement on it!

There was a ban on photography and videography when I went to see Billy Connolly at the BIC in Bournemouth a couple of months back, except that numerous people ignored it. BC himself made several references to the fact that such things happen, citing good behaviour in relation to comments about the wife/family because "I have to be careful what I say about Pamela incase some b@stard puts the f**king evidence on YouTube!"
