Title: Thruxton

Congratulations Fab! <clap> <clap> <clap>
But what was going on with Matt Neal? Is it that he's driving for Vauxhall next year or that he just doesn't like Plato?

He doesn't like Plato, and I don't blame him. I'm sure he could do much better if he stopped winging and got on with the job in hand.

Exciting stuff. Good job done by Fab, a true touring car pro.

Yes, Neal is going to drive for Vauxhall next season, it is confirmed on the BTCC website. He should have been black flagged for that IMO, completely out of order.
Plato made some very questionable moves in the last race, but he's driven a lot better this season than he did in the last 2 at least. Giovanardi is a worthy champ though, and it will be interesting to see him alongside Neal!
Btw where does this leave Tom Chilton? I get the impression he is the only person that rates him. He's done very little over the last 2 seasons so it's no surprise that (presumably) he will be moving on. But to who?

He is a much better sportscar racer than touring racer in my opinion. He has done some great work for Zytek, but has been unspectacular in tin tops. Plato is a bit of a bully on-track but he showed real grit in that last race. Fair play to the lad for carrying on driving. I mean he's not Lauda, but in this day and age, he was brave. An excellent title decider.

I think any driver who was in Plato's position in the championship would have bust a gut to at least enter the races.
The Seat Leon that he was driving seems to have run its course, will Seat use their diesel car next season? I know that several drivers are using it to good effect in the WTCC at the moment...

Neal, sorry.
Neal to Vauxhall again? Oh no! What does this mean for Team Dynamics?
NewMrMe - October 14, 2007 10:10 PM (GMT)
Team Dynamics did issue a statement confirming Gordon Sheddon for next season and that they will continue to operate as a two car team.
safc_fan89 - October 15, 2007 06:44 AM (GMT)
Gordon Shedden has actually looked the better driver this season. He could have been a lot closer to Plato and Giovanardi but for bad luck etc.
ppparkinson9 - October 15, 2007 07:27 PM (GMT)
I felt the crowd and viewers were cheated out of what they wanted to see, Plato and Giovanardi fighting it out. But Plato is pretty unpopular. SEAT couldn't persuade either Tarquini or Muller to help out yesterday.
safc_fan89 - October 15, 2007 07:34 PM (GMT)
Why should the drivers need someone to help out? I don't think either Seat or Vauxhall should have been allowed to just enter cars like that. Made no sense for Seat at least.
Grandslammer - October 16, 2007 09:45 AM (GMT)
Being out the back of the circuit, with no spectators or commentary, the atmosphere of the occassion was lost imo :(
Haven't seen any tv footage either yet
