F1’s owner CVC Capital Partners has bought GP2. GP2 owner Bruno Michel signed an agreement with F1’s holding companies that comes into effect “from the completion of the sale”. Michel remains on the GP2 board. The GP2 deal is estimated at about $300m.This sale was not announced but was evident in some documentation that was made available.

GP 2 announced that the team lineups have been set for the next 5 years. They are: Arden International, ART Grand Prix, BCN Competicion, Campos Grand Prix, DAMS, DPR, Durango, Fisichella Motorsport International, iSport International, Minardi Piquet Sports, Racing Engineering, Super Nova Racing and Trident Racing.

This now formalizes a relationship between F1 and GP2.
