Title: The Ayrton Senna Qualifier of the year award

Which driver shone most for you in quali sessions this season.

safc_fan89 - October 24, 2007 04:13 PM (GMT)
On the basis of outperforming his teammate 16-1, which would probably have been 17-0 if not for a technical problem at Silverstone, Rosberg.

RJHSaints - October 24, 2007 04:26 PM (GMT)
I'm giving it to Massa on the basis that he's shown greater consistency than his team-mate in quali, even if Kimi may have actually outqualified him more times (I'm not certain about that).

Rosberg wasn't really up against brilliant qualifiers. Not denying he did a good job, but a rookie and Alex Wurz are not the same competition as the new WDC and supposed 'fastest driver in the world'.

gone for webber he out qualified his more experienced teamate loads :)

Paul_Murtagh - October 24, 2007 06:35 PM (GMT)
I've gone for Rosberg. 16-1 over your team-mate(s) is a remarkable achievement and he was in the top 10 most of the season with a car that arguably shouldn't have made it that much

Red Andy - October 24, 2007 09:53 PM (GMT)
I also went for Rosberg, for the same reasons.

vikki - October 24, 2007 09:58 PM (GMT)
i have gone for jb.

to get a honda f1 "car" in the top ten four times was a superb job. <thumbsup>

shows how much he has improved since he sank in that rubbish benetton alongside fisi imo.

Red Andy - October 24, 2007 09:59 PM (GMT)
Well at least he looked interested in actually working and improving the car this year, unlike in 2001. Not sure about "qualifier of the year" as his strong performances only came at the end of the year when the car was better, but he did a good job in difficult circumstances.

What was his record against Barrichello?

flood1 - October 25, 2007 04:18 AM (GMT)
Rosberg.

Rob - October 25, 2007 06:33 PM (GMT)
Massa, 6 poles, and consistantly has better pace over one lap than in the race, or maybe he is just a bad racer..... <think>

DavidColthard II - October 25, 2007 06:38 PM (GMT)
who voted for Button <roflmao> ? i voted Webber he almost always got into the top 10 in a midfield car

9-8 to Button. Not all that impressive considering how Button is SOOOO much better than Barrichello. Or at least, that's what we were told. ;)

Fair enough but he was outqualified 8 times by Barrichello who is hardly a superstar.

He shouldn't be on the list then!

<ban>

despite the clearly absurd comments about rubens i have had another look.

cant go for nico cos we have nothing to compare him against.same with jarno or sutil.

not hard to outqualify someone who is out of their depth/rubbish/demotivated.

or outqualify someone whose intials are dc. <whistle>

that just leaves felipe who did a great job in qualy.

but cant help thinking he did have probably the best car on the grid and kimi was struggling a bit for the first half of the season...

which brings me back to jb....

safc_fan89 - October 28, 2007 01:48 PM (GMT)
Who was qualifying against a turkey! Barrichello is lucky to get a THIRD attempt at impressing for Honda.

pedal power - October 29, 2007 03:49 PM (GMT)
Rosberg <thumbsup>
