Anyone else got this yet? I'm addicted already <help>

I played the demo and didn't see enough 'innovation' to make me want to buy it. I'm still on the 2007 game, it's keeping me occupied enough :P I'll probably get the 08 game, but not until around Xmas. Unless I get fed up of my game on FM07.

Ive got it and im already doing better than kevin blackwell, with only two players that blackwell doesnt have.

Can anyone tell me what new stuff I should expect? The last game in the series I played was FM2006. Have they changed much about the editor? I'm a bit of an editor freak, always on that thing keeping the game up to date.
Also, what's the transfer market like at lower levels of the game? I like to do a lot of non-league and Welsh league management, and was extremely unimpressed with the non-lge transfer market in '06. Transfers are far too frequent and sometimes downright unrealistic. In non-league, where you live pretty much determines where you play, so when a player moves from say Raith Rovers in Scotland to Port Talbot in South Wales, well, it doesn't make sense, unless they're paying him megabucks.

I will probably be getting this, I got rid of footie manager 07 because it was slowing my PC down and my PC has enough problems as it is at the moment.
My time as Cheltenham town manager was becoming rather stale anyway. <roflmao>
I am getting a laptop from the school I work at so I will play FM2008 on there and keep room on my main computer.

Not sure, but I'm more bothered about the 'fun' aspect of the game. Likewise in real life, Milan would not offer £19 million for a Leicester reserve player, as happened on FM07 with me!
To me it doesn't matter who the other teams sign, who I sign is more important, as that is what I can influence. The other teams can do what they like!

Quite a bit. Were team talks in that version? If they were they have been significantly improved since then. Now to evaluate your peformance, the fans rate each player you buy, tell you if they want someone dropped, your board have long term and short term objectives.
I haven't touched this for a while, it's waaay too bugged at the min. So bad that SI had to bring out a beta patch.

On FM07 there was one player who i sold that remained in my reserve team, and even played and scored for them!

way too addictive these football management games
end up going to bed thinking about squad postions rather then sex positions

Team talks were in '06, yes. They were basically formulaic poor-excellent comments that you could give either to your team as a whole or to individuals. Occasionally they would be different, like 'you only need one more goal to win' or something like that.
What bugs are on it, by the way?
Rams - November 13, 2007 04:13 PM (GMT)
There was the closing down bug but that is fixed in the beta patch. However the beta patch creates a new bug, very low morale if you lose a game so it's hard to recover after 1 defeat
I lost a game save to an XML bug, to be honest there are literally s**t loads of smaller bugs that I don't have time to name but it's a mess.
