Formula 1 has progressively become a snooze fest over more than a decade. I think the last great years were Shumi versus Alonso.

It has taken a lot of years for fans to start dropping off. This year so far looks pretty interesting and I love the new cars.

As it took years for people to drop off, I suspect it will also take years to get people back to watching and for new people to start watching.

It would be nice for this board to become more active again.

On Sunday night my time I thanked my Canadian friend for not calling me until after the race. He used to be a fan. In fact he was the one who paid US$1 million for the rental of a 286 foot yacht (with swimming pool) plus 270 foot support boat (with airplane) and other lesser fleet members for that week in the Mediterranean Sea coinciding with Monaco. I was there.

He has long lost interest, he admits two things:

1. He admits that this season looks way better; and
2. It is late for him to regain passion. He simply moved on to other sports and has lost track of the new rising stars.

I truly hope that the sport doesn't make too many changes to the rules. These rules work. We have two legends in the making battling it out. Two marque teams now almost equal and we don't even know which team is ahead from race to race.

And we also have humor in buckets. Honestly Honda is a laugh!! We could have a new Tim Allen sitcom based on the Honda engine.

It takes time, but I hope we can attract old and new fans. It really has become a great season.
